Local finds for your spiritual tools
Hello, soul fam!
Welcome to the first post of The Clairsentient Mama community page! I am so happy to have you here and I can’t wait to get started. Feel free to comment and even respond to one another. It’s an open place but always be kind.
So you may have seen these items around your local Mexican market/Mercado, but may have passed them by or maybe you haven’t even been to one yet! If you haven’t, go. There are so many things you can do with the items you find there. La Fiesta is a common spice brand that is owned by a family that has Mexican and Italian immigrant history plus they are based in San Antonio, TX. Ziyad is a middle-eastern brand that started in Chicago as a pita bread company. Both, to me, have a rich start-up story with a long history and I dig that.
Here’s the thing. I can’t stand those big sage sticks for all the reasons you’ve heard before — namely over cultivation. But also they aren’t very maleable. I like being able to use my herbs easily. Which is why I started buying this bag of what I’m sure is common sage but wow the burn is really different. The sage wands I used to get didn’t feel like a cleansing — they felt like they added heavy energy. I also use cinnamon in my work (abundance, cleansing) and roses (love, compassion, cleansing). I currently don’t have roses growing anymore at the moment so I have had to improvise!
Also?! This is the freshest and liveliest mint I’ve ever bought. I usually have my own but the cold took it all. I will be working it into my bath later and will share about that as well.
Lastly, pillar candles. Most stores have those Catholic pillars and not a large variety of solid colors. I’ve never seen ALL the colors in one place like I did today. I realize you can get these at your local metaphysical shop too but I trust very few folks other than myself 🤣. I will dress them as I see fit for my workings.
I will have more later today but I had to get this out first! Spiritual tools don’t have to be an arm and a leg and intention is EVERYTHING. Maybe you can’t grow everything but you have options — it’s the intention, always.
I hope you enjoy it here. I’m all too excited!
